I walked out of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, France on September 7 and arrived in Santiago de Compostela on October 15.
October 5 – Camponaraya: Felt a little scratchy in my chest. hmmm Am I getting sick?
October 6 – Villafranca del Bierzo: A visit to the clinic and a prescription for antibiotics.
October 7 – 15 – Continued to walk as I could while sick. Walked another 80 miles of partial stages. Coughed a lot, and then finally, in a downpour and with the relentless cough, took a taxi into Santiago.
Afterward: At home and visiting the doctor, discovered I had pneumonia.
