The trail heads list on the American Trails site doesn’t mention the two ways I usually access this trail. I either park at the Knights of Columbus park off Midland Drive or park at the Ogg Road trail head, walk down the access road and cross over on a nature path to the Gary Haller trail.
Speaking of OGG ROAD, it’s a good hills training road. If you’re industrious, you can sign up to run the Annual Ogg Road Race. I see information on the Ogg 2020 Challenge. Not sure they are having one for 2021, but you’ll find information here. Ogg road runs through Shawnee Mission Park between 79th street and Midland Drive. The half a mile segment garners approximately 190 feet of gain.
