Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela October 16, 2019 9:04pm Mary and Harriet. We met Sept 7 on our first day on the first few steps up the mountain in the Pyrenees. We walked many kilometers together!

Watch For:
Monte del Gozo – 380m/1,247ft – Historic hill from which medieval pilgrims first caught sight of Santiago de Compostela’s cathedral.
San Lázaro – Contains the Capilla de San Lázaro, the site of a former 12th century leprosarium.
Santiago – Shadow Pilgrim: How to get there- Walking from the north-east corner of the cathedral complex through the Plaza de la Quintana, towards the front of the cathedral, walk down the first set of stairs into the large plaza area. Look for the deep corner between the base of the clock tower and the Royal Door. The pilgrim is behind a low fence next to the lightning pillar.
