Watch For:
Trinidad de Arre – A suburb of Pamplona. Located on the ancient Roman road and was refounded in 1184 by Sancho IV. Romanesque bridge with six arches.
Alternate Route – 4.4km past Arre: Take the Riverside path rather than walk 9.75 km on paved streets & suburbia.
Alternate Route to enter Pamplona – (per Brierly) To proceed directly to the city center veer right over bridge, cross the Playa Caparroso veering right around the old city walls and enter the historic city over the drawbridge and the Portal de Francia.
Pamplona – Tourist office: Turismo. Av. Roncesvalles, 4. adj the bull-running statue monumento. 848 420 420. Open Tues-Sat 1000-1700. Dining Recommendations/warning: Don’t go here – Bar Txoko gets the last of the evening sun but tapas and pintxos cost double what you might expect elsewhere. Do Go here: c/San Nicolas is full of inexpensive pensions and tapas bars.
