Watch for:
Galicia – Horreos: Will begin to see stone granaries, called Horreos, that appear as small rectangular houses on stilts.
Portomarín – History: Until 1950, the town was lower down on the banks of the Miño River. Because of a new dam and reservoir, the town would be under water. The town people disassembled and reassembled their two Romanesque churches and transported them, along with a few historic mansions, higher up the slope. You can see the old town under water as you cross the bridge.
