Watch for:
Liñares – (pop 48) Named after the local flax fields grown here in the Middle Ages to make linen. Church of San Esteban founded in AD 1120.
Leaving Liñares: Ascent to Alto San Roque, one of the higher altitude points reached with gradual ascent to 1,270m/4,167ft. Features a modern bronze statue of a windswept pilgrim.
Fonfría – You may see a woman selling homemade crepes from her front porch. She expects a donation of at least €1-2.
Biduedo – (pop 29) Tiniest chapel on the whole Camino. Barely fits two people.
Triacastela – 9th century. Name comes from three castles that once stood there.
