April 17 Adios Hill Country

Last day in the Texas Hill Country. Great and restful time with my friend, Marie Scott Marks, in Utopia, TX. And a big thanks to Bert and Sarah Scott for letting me charge the car at their house. Utopia, with its population of 124 people, ain’t got no charging stations. Our traditional dinner at the Lost Maples Cafe, a meander by the river, and good visits on the front porch. Tomorrow – off to Flour Bluff (Corpus Christi).

2026 Texas Coddiwomple: April 9 – 13

I left April 9 on a coddiwomple to the Texas coast. A meandering to visit family, friends, and to stay and walk in Texas State Parks along the way to Corpus Christi.

April 9: Wichita, KS to visit grandsons Justin and Cameron + their families.

April 10: Ft Worth to visit granddaughter, Hailee

April 11: Lake Mineral Wells State Park, where it stormed and rained and flashed lightening bolts most of my time there.

April 12: Leander, TX to visit my cousin, Jason, who found me via Ancestry many years ago.

April 13 (today): McKinney Falls State Park. The sun is mostly shining, and no rain in the forecast.
