October 10 Triacastela to Sarria – hills

Ok. Tomorrow, October 11, I arrive in Sarria. This is significant for a number of reasons.

 (1) Many (most?) start their Camino in Sarria because if you are walking, this 100 kilometers to Santiago is the minimum distance needed to obtain a Compostela in Santiago.

 (2) The path will become much busier. Those who have been walking for weeks have a quietness about them. Sharing and caring, but less “chatty.” We are not as giddy as we were as we crawled up that mountain in the Pyrenees our first days. And we know each other.

 (3) We need to be mindful of our attitude. We need to take a moment and recall our own questions and trepidation’s those first days and take the time to answer and calm as we were helped by those in their 2nd, 3rd, 4-7th caminos did for us.

Triacastela Laundry

Dryer on top. The washer on the bottom. So what do I do? Put my dirty clothes in the dryer a deposit of 3€. Oops! Luckily a pilgrim fellow was here to set me straight. The washer just finished. It has the same spaceship “finished” melody as my machines back home!
