Well. Here I am in Spain with 90 miles left in my 500 mile walk across northern Spain. Four days ago, I got a heckuva respiratory infection. Four days into seven days of antibiotics and I’m on the trail again-with a mountain to climb! No way have I recovered the strength for that, so rented a horse. Last time I was on a horse was when I was 12 on one of Charlene’s horses. Up the mountain we went on a very rocky and steep path. It was a two hour ride and I was scared for most of it.

I was thinking today there had been no reason for me to sit a horse for the past 60 years. That day I had a reason. What I didn’t consider was the muscle group required. Pretty much walking like John Wayne.
