and having some wine! It was a reasonably short and easy walk at only 10 miles. It’s interesting on how my perspective has changed; only 10 miles!
The cloudy and somewhat cooler weather made the walk more enjoyable. Plus I found an alternate route around a hill.

Leaving Navarette. 8:10am. Breakfast: scrambled eggs on toast. Two thin slices of ham, two thin slices of cheese 4.50€ and coffee 1.50€. Can’t beat those prices! And no tip or tax.

In the Sacristy of the parish a famous Flemish triptych from the 16th century is kept that is regularly exhibited in various exhibitions and you can also visit an exhibitor with rich goldsmiths, ivories and relics, (of various saints, of the Holy Cross and a copy de la Sabana Santa from the 16th century) witnesses to the importance of Navarrete in the 17th and 18th centuries.

Navarrete is located between Logroño and Nájera on the French Way, the most popular path on the Way of St. James, a medieval pilgrim route. Currently, Navarrete is the only pottery centre in La Rioja, and it has been one of the most important centres in Northern Spain.
