Santiago – Laundry

Santiago de Compostela-Chores: Found the laundromat and discovered I only had 50€ bills. The change machine changes up to 20€ bills. So off to breakfast! Didn’t eat last night, so a good breakfast was welcome. Clothes are in the machine. Everything I own for this weather had gotten way past my “cleanest dirty clothes.” Next on the list (after changing out of these shorts and the lightweight sleeping leggings) is the medical center to see a doc. Then it will be nap time.

October 15 Adios Palas Del Rey

Taxi to Santiago, 41 miles.

Got a hug from a Danish fellow I’ve been seeing here and there. He said I must have a cortado and promptly ordered it for the señora.

Riding along listening to Hotel California on the taxi’s radio. Still surprises me that most of the music I hear is American.

October 14 Closing a Magnificent Journey

I’ve accepted that I can’t keep walking-probably even if it wasn’t raining. I haven’t kicked this bronchiole infection, and all I’m doing is taking a taxi, maybe or maybe not walking, and repeat. Rather pointless.
So tomorrow I will bus to Santiago.
I still want to see Santiago! I’ll arrive home October 19 instead of October 22. I was so frustrated! So many days of walking and BAM at the end!
But then I realized how lucky I’ve been to have had perfect health and perfect weather since September 7. No blisters. No falls/sprains/tendinitis. Nada.
Tomorrow: Posts and photos from Santiago de Compostela.
