Blog

May 15 – Life is a little slow in “Blog Land” as we await permission to enter Spain. Meanwhile, you may be interested in other information I’ve been gathering:

I’m also considering some interesting USA trails and a couple of Scotland’s Great Trails: The West Highland Way and the Great Glen Way.

This June when I’m in the southeast visiting family, I’ll pause in the Asheville, NC area for a day hike on the Shut-In Trail, which is part of Segment 2 of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.

Long Distance U.S. Trails

A big part of walking the Camino is planning and anticipating. For me, it is much more difficult to stay on the trail with significant miles without a goal. I’ve begun focus on America’s Long Trails. I don’t anticipate an entire trail, but some sections would be fun and challenging.

Erie Canal Path

We considered walking the Canal Path from Buffalo to Syracuse, but it’s still COVID time. It was fun planning for it and learning more about the path.

This is the path the mules used to pull the barges. Here are the mules working on this path in 1907.
